No fiddle, no percussion. This is not the official version, just the early demo. Although, it was supposed to be the final version. We'd even taped a video for it already, in which I was singing the song in a bathtub and chasing around tiny wind-up lobsters. When the fiddle version came out, we shelved this video, although some clips of the lobsters in the bathtub made it into the fiddle version's video.
lyrics
"I Am Polluted" [vonHummer]
I am polluted, Who knows why? And it looks like I’m gonna live til I die,
Looks like I’m gonna live like a pig in a sty,
Well my reasoning is convoluted and I am polluted,
Big plane fly, big horn sound, big opportunity, big deal goin’ down,
Big small chance, I can step out,
Big small fears and choices and voices I can’t figure out...
I am polluted, Who cares how? And it looks like my later’s happening now,
Looks like my later has taken a bow,
Wow: cause and effect are uprooted and I am polluted,
Big plane fly, big horn sound, big opportunity, big deal goin’ down,
Big small chance, I can step out,
Big small fears and choices and voices I can’t figure out...
Slow as molasses, I am polluted,
Tic-tock, time passes, I am polluted,
Just one of the masses, I am polluted,
I am polluted, Who knows why? Who cares how?
I am polluted, Who knows why? And it looks like I’m gonna live til I die,
Llooks like I’m gonna live like a pig in a sty,
Well my reasoning is convoluted and I am polluted,
Well my reasoning is convoluted and I am polluted,
Well my reasoning is convoluted and I am polluted,

vonHummer is a Portland music/cable access legend whose career spanned from Fall of 2001 to Fall of 2011, during which he
recorded a hundred or so songs for use in his absurdist show (and feature film) and played only a handful of concerts. Currently retired, his work shines on for the ages. Or will he someday return...?...more
Long split up, but not forgotten. Some say the Winebirds functioned as an ersatz Fleetwood Mac, and that's more than fair, but to me, they functioned as a real-life Partridge Family. vonHummer
